March 7-11, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 5-member ROK NGO delegation headed by Choi Hyeonjung, Director of the Department of External Relations of the Asan Institute for Policy Studies visited China. In Beijing, Vice-President Ai Ping met with the delegation. Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang had in-depth exchanges with the delegation on sustainable development and the “Belt and Road”. Apart from Beijing, the delegation paid a visit to Shanghai. March 15, Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang met with Sen Nakata, Chief Director of Japan NPO “the World”.
March 16-25, at the invitation of the 48 Group Club of the UK, the Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA) of Ireland and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iceland, a six-member CAFIU delegation led by Ai Ping, Member of the CPPCC, former Vice-Minister of IDCPC and CAFIU Vice-President visited the three countries. Deputy Secretary-General Zheng Yao participated in the visit.
March 21-30, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 12-member African delegation composed of NGO leaders, traditional leaders, University and media representatives from Botswana, Kenya and Tanzania headed by Puso Gaborone, Chairnan of the House of Chiefs of Botswana visited China. In Beijing, Qi Xuchun, Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and CAFIU Vice-President met with the delegation. Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang held working talks with the delegation. Apart from Beijing, the delegation also visited Zhejiang Province.
