March 7-11, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 5-member ROK NGO delegation headed by Choi Hyeonjung, Director of the Department of External Relations of the Asan Institute for Policy Studies visited China. In Beijing, Vice-President Ai Ping met with the delegation. Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang had in-depth exchanges with the delegation on sustainable development and the “Belt and Road”. Apart from Beijing, the delegation paid a visit to Shanghai.
March 15, Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang met with Sen Nakata, Chief Director of Japan NPO “the World”.

March 16-25, at the invitation of the 48 Group Club of the UK, the Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA) of Ireland and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iceland, a six-member CAFIU delegation led by Ai Ping, Member of the CPPCC, former Vice-Minister of IDCPC and CAFIU Vice-President visited the three countries. Deputy Secretary-General Zheng Yao participated in the visit.

March 21-30, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 12-member African delegation composed of NGO leaders, traditional leaders, University and media representatives from Botswana, Kenya and Tanzania headed by Puso Gaborone, Chairnan of the House of Chiefs of Botswana visited China. In Beijing, Qi Xuchun, Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and CAFIU Vice-President met with the delegation. Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang held working talks with the delegation. Apart from Beijing, the delegation also visited Zhejiang Province.

March 28, Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang attended the reception hosted by the Embassy of Bangladesh for the 45th anniversary of the Independence and National Day of Bangladesh.

April 1, CAFIU worked together with FES Beijing Office in hosting a Roundtable meeting on “Energy Transition and Sustainable Economic Policy”. Deputy Secretary-General Zheng Yao and Director of FES Beijing Office Christoph Pohlmann co-chaired the meeting.

April 5, Deputy Secretary-General Zheng Yao met with Knut Dethlefsen, Desk Officer for East Asia Affairs of FES.

April 12-19, at the invitation of Junior Chamber International Japan (JCI) and Kasikorn Research Center, a 6-member CAFIU delegation headed by Secretary General Ni Jian visited Japan and Thailand.

April 18, Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang met with the Sri Lanka delegation of “Human development achieved through the 21st Century Maritime Silk Route project” Speech Contest winner students.

April 19-25, at the invitation of the Bangladesh-China People’s Friendship Association (BCPFA) and Nepal Council of World Affairs (NCWA), a 4-member CAFIU delegation led by Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang visited the two countries.

May 9-18, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 19-member joint NGO delegation composed of prominent politicians, NGO leaders, think tank researchers, media representatives and business people from CEE (Central and East European) Countries namely, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania headed by Mme. Urve Tiidus, Member of Parliament and former culture minister of Estonia visited China. In Beijing, Liu Hongcai, Vice-Minister of International Department of CPC Central Committee and CAFIU Advisor met with the delegation. Deputy Secretary-General Zheng Yao held a working discussion with the delegation. Apart from Beijing, the delegation also visited Fujian Province.

May 17, Secretary-General Ni Jian held a discussion with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) China Office Chief Representative Nakazato Taiji and Deputy Chief Representative Zhou Yan. Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang attended the discussion.

May 23, 2016 Chairman of Asia Alliance Establishment Commission of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Japan Ryugo Matsumoto and his colleagues called on CAFIU and had a working discussion with Division Director for Asian, African and Oceania Affairs.

May 26-June 4, at the invitation of the Parliament of Albania, the Albania-China Cultural Association, the Latvia China Business Council, and the Canada International Council, a CAFIU delegation headed by Ji Bingxuan, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and Vice-President of CAFIU visited Albania, Latvia and Canada. Vice-President Ai Ping and Secretary-General Ni Jian were also in the delegation.

July 19-28, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 17-member joint NGO delegation composed of politicians, NGO leaders, think tank researchers, heads of colleges and universities and media representatives from South Asia and Southeast Asia, namely, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, the Philippines and Brunei headed by Muniruzzaman, President of Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies visited China. In Beijing, Ai Ping, Vice-President met with the delegation. Deputy Secretary-General Liu kaiyang held a working discussion with the delegation and had in-depth exchanges of views on South China Sea issue with the Philippine representatives. September 6-13, at the invitation of Asia New Zealand Foundation and Australian Institute of International Affairs (AIIA), the CAFIU delegation headed by Mr. Qi Xuchun, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC, Executive Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang and Vice-President of CAFIU visited New Zealand and Australia. October 18-27, at the invitation of CAFIU, an 11-member European-American young leaders delegation composed of politicians, think tank researchers and media workers from France, Germany, Italy, UK and US headed by Manlio di Stefano, Member of House of Representatives of Italy and Chairman of the Five-Star Movement parliamentary group in the House’s Foreign Affairs Committee visited China. In Beijing, Qi Xichun, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of CPPCC and Vice-President of CAFIU and Liu Hongcai, Vice-Minister of IDCPC and CAFIU Advisor met with the delegation on separate occasions. Secretary-General Ni Jian and Deputy Secretary-General Zheng Yao attended the meetings. Apart from Beijing, the delegation also visited Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
