Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met a delegation of young members of Japan's Diet
 
At the invitation of Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU), a delegation of young members of Japan's Diet headed by Taira Masaaki, House of Representatives member, visited Beijing from December 5 to 9.
 
Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met the delegation of young members of Japan's Diet on December 7.
 
"We hope young Japanese politicians can proceed from a strategic and long-term perspective to contribute to improving China-Japan relations," Li told them. He said that long-term healthy and stable development of bilateral ties serves the fundamental interests of people of the two countries, calling for furthering bilateral relations based on the four political documents and four-point consensus reached between the two sides and in the spirit of taking history as a mirror and looking into the future.
 
Taira Masaaki said young politicians have a responsibility to nurture friendship between Japan and China and he is willing to make unremitting efforts to further improve Japan-China relations.
 
Ai Ping, CAFIU Vice President and Former Vice Minister of the International Department of CPC Central Committee, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian and Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang were present at the meeting.
