African Think Tank & NGO Delegation Visited China
 
At the invitation of Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU), an African Think Tank & NGO delegation composed of representatives from political field, NGO and think tank from South Africa, Tanzania and Namibia visited Beijing and Guizhou from November 10 to 19.
 
During its stay in Beijing, CAFIU Vice-President Ai Ping met the delegation and briefed on the 5th plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee and the 13th Five-Year Plan. Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang had discussions with the delegation. Professor Yang Guang, Director-General of Institute of West-Asian and African Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences gave a briefing on China-Africa relations.   The delegation also called on China Youth Development Foundation and Center for African Studies, Peking University. During its stay in Guizhou, Mr.Yuan Huimin, Director-General of Foreign Affairs Office of Guizhou Province met the delegation and briefed on the social economic development of Guizhou. The delegation also paid a field visit to New Rural Development and Agricultural Demonstration Park and held discussions with the Poverty Alleviation and Development Office of Guizhou Province and Guizhou Women’s Federation,getting to know development-oriented poverty reduction and the development of women’s cause there.
 
The visit has positive meaning in strengthening understanding towards a comprehensive China by African friends and deepening friendly exchanges between CAFIU and its African counterparts.
