At the invitation of CAFIU, a 20-member Latin-American NGO delegation composed of representatives of NGOs, think tanks and media from Cuba, Argentina, Peru and Mexico visited China from Nov. 3rd to 15th, 2015.

 

    In Beijing, CAFIU Vice-President Ai Ping met with the delegation and briefed on the 5^th plenary session of the 18^th CPC Central Committee and the 13^th Five-Year Plan. Secretary-General Ni Jian exchanged opinions with the delegation on future cooperation. Deputy Secretary-General Zheng Yao and Wang Jialei, Deputy Director-General of the Bureau of Latin American Affairs of the International Department of CPC made presentations on China’s recent development in social and economic fields, the Four-Pronged Comprehensive Strategy and the “new normal” of China’s economic development and on China’s foreign policy and China-Latin-America relations respectively. The delegation also called on Beijing Foreign Studies University and held a discussion with some teachers and students.

 

    In Henan Province, the delegation made field studies on the building of a new socialist countryside and development of modern agriculture in Nanjiecun Village. It visited Shineway Group, Yutong Group and Zhongdamen Bonded Commodity O2O Shopping Center, and explored possibilities for pragmatic cooperation. In Chongqing, the delegation visited the Municipal Planning Exhibition Hall, Liangjiang New Area Planning Exhibition Hall and the Three Gorges Museum, and learned about the latest social and economic development and future plans of Chongqing. The delegation made a field study on new-type urbanization in Dazu District and held a discussion with some leading members concerned on how Dazu District managed the urbanization process.
