Neighboring NGO Delegation Visits China
 
At the invitation of CAFIU, a 17-member joint NGO delegation composed of prominent politicians, NGO leaders, think tank researchers, heads of colleges and universities and media representatives from South Asia and Southeast Asia, namely, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, Philippines and Brunei headed by A N M Muniruzzaman, President of Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies visited China from July 19 to 28, 2016.
 
In Beijing, Aiping, Vice President of CAFIU met with the delegation. Deputy Secretary-General Liu kaiyang held a working discussion with the delegation and had an in-depth exchange of views on South China Sea issue with the Philippine representatives. Experts from China Institute of Contemporary International Relations and China National School of Administration respectively gave thematic lectures on Chinese Marine Development Strategy and Foreign Policy of Neighbor Friendship, the 13th Five-Year Plan and Deepening Reform. The delegation also visited Beijing City Planning and Exhibition Hall and Capital Museum of China.
 
Apart from Beijing, the delegation also visited Yunnan Province. Zhouhong, Director of Yunnan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office met with the delegation. The delegation listened to the briefings given by Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences and Yunnan Commerce Department on the building of One Belt and One Road and cooperation between Yunnan and Neighbor Countries. The delegation visited Yunnan Energy Investment Group and Xi huajiecun, the model village of new rural construction. The delegation also visited the Yunnan Nationalities Museum and Ethnic Village.
