At the invitation of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund and the Institute for Participatory Democracy Euro Qvorum, a 4-member CAFIU delegation headed by Deputy Secretary-general Zheng Yao visited Russia and Romania from June 28 to July 5, 2016.

 

In Russia, the delegation visited the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, the Institute of Far Eastern Studies of Russian Academy of Science, the Institute of Philosophy of Russian Academy of Science, the State Academic University for Humanities, the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University in Saint Petersburg and the Russian State Hydro-meteorological University, and exchanged views with representatives from NGOs, scholars from think-tanks and young teachers and students. In Romania, the delegation visited the Institute for Participatory Democracy Euro Qvorum, the Social Democratic Institute of Ovidiu Sincai Foundation, the European Titulescu Foundation and the Association for Democracy, and exchanged views with former Prime Minister Adrian Nastase.
