On July 8, Ai Ping, Vice President of the Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU), attended the International Conference on the Belt and Road Initiative hosted by the Pakistan-China Institute and delivered the keynote speech on the people-to-people connectivity and mutual learning among peoples with different civilizational backgrounds.

Hosted by the Pakistan-China Institute, the conference was attended by politicians and representatives of NGOs and think tanks of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. They had extensive discussions around the topics of the advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative and the people-to-people connectivity in the aftermath of covid-19.

The participants spoke highly of the role of the Belt and Road Initiative in promoting the economic and social development and the improvement of people’s well-being in many countries. They agreed that the initiative will play a more important role after the ending of covid-19 and countries should work closer and enhance connectivity.
