On the morning of June 18, CAFIU held a seminar on “Promoting China-EU Tourism Cooperation” in its conference room. Dr.Ujhelyi Istvan, Vice-Chair of the European Parliament (EP) Transport and Tourism Committee (TRAN) headed a six-member MEP delegation attended the seminar. Representatives from China International Travel Service, China Youth Travel Service, Air China, China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines were also present at the seminar. Both sides had heated discussions on the facilitation of tourist visa application, attracting Chinese tourists to Europe, further exploring the potential of the European tourist market and other topics. They pointed out the current problems and also offered suggestions to strengthen future cooperation. The seminar was presided over by Secretary-General Ni Jian. Deputy Secretary-General Zheng Yao and other staff from CAFIU were also present at the seminar.
