On June 17, CAFIU and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) of Germany jointly held a webinar on Promoting the Olympic Spirit and People’s Role in the Olympic Games. The webinar was chaired by Mr. Ai Ping, CAFIU Vice President and former Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee. Mr. Wan Xuejun, Deputy Director of the International Relations Department of Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, gave a briefing on the preparations for the Games. Representatives of the Chinese and German NGOs and research institutions had an extensive discussion about the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of China-Germany diplomatic relations and the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games: an important opportunity to promote people-to-people cooperation between China and Germany.
