On December 18, 2020, the Seminar on Exchanges and Mutual Learning among Civilisations entitled “Diverse Cultures, One Aspiration” organised by CAFIU was held in Beijing with the support of the China Artists Association. Artists, scholars and leaders of social organizations from China, Russia, Germany, Italy, Sri Lanka, Mexico and Indonesia, CAFIU’s artist council members attended the seminar on-site or online. Vice President of CAFIU and the China Artists Association Xu Li delivered a keynote speech at the venue. The representatives exchanged views on topics of “peace and development: the artists’ vision of the world” and “exchanges and mutual learning among cultures and civilisations: important mission of artists”, and watched an exhibition of paintings.
The delegates agree that culture and art can reflect the shared values of the mankind, and is an important source of power and an important form of display of social progress. Against the backdrop of the pandemic, carrying out cultural and art exchanges and promoting mutual learning of civilisations is conducive to giving powerful spiritual impetus to the battle against the pandemic, and also helps peoples from different countries to better understand the community with a shared future for mankind. The art circles from different countries should strengthen exchanges and cooperation, so as to play a greater role for world peace and the development of human society.
