On September 25, 2020, CAFIU and the Institute for Global Cooperation and Understanding, Peking University jointly held the second Webinar on Chinese and American Peoples’ Perception of Each Other with the theme of “Direction and Ways of People-to-people Cooperation between China and the US under COVID-19”. The webinar was chaired by Mr. Ai Ping, CAFIU Vice President and former Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee. The webinar was attended by Mr. Jin Canrong, Deputy Dean of the School of International Studies, Renmin University of China, Mr. Rong Ying, Vice President and Senior Research Fellow of China Institute of International Studies, Mr. Daniel Russel, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Mr. Evan Feigenbaum, Vice President of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, former U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Mr. Bruce Stokes, Executive Director of Transatlantic Task Force, German Marshal Fund of the United States, etc. The representatives exchanged views on the status quo and causes of the American perception of China and put forward suggestions.
