January 12, CAFIU Secretary-General NiJian met with renowned Japanese photographer Hisashi Mochizuki.
                                                  February
(1) February 10, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Du Kening met with Sven Schwersensky, Program Executive of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation £¨FES£© in Beijing. Both sides exchanged views on relevant cooperative programs.
 
(2) February 15, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Du Kening met with Mrs. Reisei Wang, President of North America International Cooperation Association of Canada. Both sides discussed on the future cooperation between the two organizations.
 
(3) February 19-March 1, at the invitation of the National Strategy Institute of the Republic of Korea, Junior Chamber International Japan (JCI) Japan-China Friendship Association and the Philippine Center of Young Leaders in Governance, a 3-member CAFIU working team headed by Secretary-General Ni Jian paid a working visit to the ROK, Japan and the Philippines.
 
(4) February 21, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Du Kening met with Achim Post, Deputy Secretary-General and head of the International Department of the Social Democratic Party of Germany.
 
(5) February 29-March 6, CAFIU representative attended the first week meetings of the 19th regular session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.

(1) March 1, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with the delegation of Japan-China Friendship Association headed by Chairman Yoshitaka Tanaka.
 
(2) March 13, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with Marcin Beben, Deputy Chairman of Civic Association ¡°the House of Poland¡±.
 
(3) March 13 and 20 respectively, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Du Kening met with Sven Schwersensky, Program Executive of FES in Beijing.
 
(4) March 20, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang met with Shah Faisal, President of Pakistan-China Association and his colleagues.
 
(5) March 23, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with Tsuneda Teruo, Executive Director of the Mainichi Shimbun of Japan.
 
(6) March 24 to 25, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 12-member delegation of Japanese high school students from Naganoken, headed by Hiroji Izawa, Council Member of the Nagano Association for Japan-China Exchanges, visited Binxian in Shaanxi Province.
 
(7) March 29, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with Suguru Shinada, outgoing Director of Nihon Keizai Shimbun China Headquarters and his successor Katsuji Nakazawa.
 
(8) March 29, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang met with Japanese friend Eiichi Noda.
 
(9) March 30, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian attended the reception in memory of the Great East Japan Earthquake and reconstruction held by the Japanese Embassy in China.
 
(10) March 31, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with Kunio Takami, Director of NPO Green Earth Network of Japan.

(1) April 1, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang met with the 27th Japanese Tree-Planting Delegation for Mourning for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre headed by Shinichiro Shiranishi, Secretary-General of the Japan-China Society.
 
(2) April 3-15, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Grand National Assembly of Turkey and Delhi Study Group of India, a CAFIU delegation headed by Zhou Tienong, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People¡¯s Congress (NPC) and President of CAFIU, paid a goodwill visit to the above-mentioned three countries. President Zhou was accompanied by He Jun, Assistant Minister of IDCPC and Advisor to CAFIU.
 
(3) April 12, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang met with Keith Neal from ¡°Initiatives of Change¡± British Association.
 
(4) April 13, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Du Kening met with Mrs. Reisei Wang, President of North America International Cooperation Association of Canada.
 
(5) April 23-27, at the invitation of CAFIU, an 11-member delegation of Japanese Kokuminrengo (Japanese National Federation for Autonomy, Peace and Democracy) headed by Nishizawa Kiyoshi visited Beijing. CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang held talks with the delegation.

(1) May 8, CAFIU Executive Vice-President Li Jinjun and Secretary-General Ni Jian respectively met with the Japanese delegation headed by Sen Nakata, Chief Director of NPO ¡°the World¡±. Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang held working discussions with the delegation.
 
(2) May 9, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with Amos Nadai, Israeli Ambassador to China. Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang attended the meeting.
 
(3) May 9, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Du Kening met with Sven Schwersensky, Program Executive of FES Beijing Office.
 
(4) May 10, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with Sachiko Yokogi, Vice-Chairman of Japan-China Technological Youth Interchange Society.
 
(5) May 11, CAFIU convened the 3rd Plenary Session of the 10th Executive Council. Zhou Tienong, Vice-Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee Revolutionary Committee of Chinese Kuomintang and president of CAFIU, Li Jinhua, Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and Vice-President of CAFIU, Chen Zongxing, Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, Executive Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants¡¯ and Workers¡¯ Democratic Party and Vice-President of CAFIU, Wang Jiarui, Minister of IDCPC and CAFIU Council members attended the session.
 
(6) May 13-26, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 24-member delegation consisting of NGO leaders from four neighboring countries visited China. The four NGOs are Bangladesh-China People¡¯s Friendship Association, Delhi Study Group of India, Nepal Council of World Affairs and the Pilipino Council of Young Leaders in Governance. During its visit, the delegation attended the  2012 ¡°Understanding and Cooperation¡± Dialogue. Apart from Beijing, the delegation also visited Jiangxi Province.
(6) May 14-26, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 15-member delegation composed of representatives from Civil Association ¡°Polish House¡±, ¡°Amicus Europe¡± (Friends of Europe) Foundation of Poland, ¡°World Bridge¡± Foundation of Hungary, Czech-China Association and Organization of Solidarity for People of Africa, Asia and America Latina of Cuba, headed by Professor Josef Haber, Vice-Chairman of Project Committee of ¡°Polish House¡±, visited China. During its stay in China, the delegation participated in the 2012 ¡°Understanding and Cooperation¡± Dialogue hosted by CAFIU. Apart from Beijing, the delegation also visited Liaoning Province.
 
(7) May 16-23, at the invitation of CAFIU, Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly and founder of the World Bridge Foundation Ujhelyi Istv¨¢n headed a six-member delegation of the World Bridge Foundation visited China. In Beijing, Li Jinhua, Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and Vice-President of CAFIU met with the delegation, and Zhu Dacheng, Vice-President of CAFIU had a working meeting with the delegation. The delegation participated in the 2012 ¡°Understanding and Cooperation¡± Dialogue. Apart from Beijing, the delegation also visited Shenzhen.
 
(8) May 19-26, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 4-member delegation headed by Festus Mogae, former President of Botswana visited China and attended the 2012 ¡°Understanding and Cooperation¡± Dialogue. The delegation also visited Shanghai.
 
(9) May 21-26, the Understanding and Cooperation Dialogue, sponsored by CAFIU and the China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD), and co-organized by the Chinese People¡¯s Association for Peace and Disarmament, the Chinese NGO Network for International Exchanges, Hangzhou Municipal People¡¯s Government and Yiwu Municipal People¡¯s Government, was held in Beijing, Hangzhou and Yiwu. Zhou Tienong, Vice-Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee and President of CAFIU, attended the opening ceremony and gave opening remarks. Li Jinhua, Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and Vice President of CAFIU, attended the welcome banquet and delivered greeting remarks. Chen Zongxing, Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and Vice-President of CAFIU attended the opening ceremony of the Dialogue held in Hangzhou and made a speech. Former President of Botswana Festus Mogae, former Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Philippines Jose de Veneica, former President of the House of Councilors of Japan Eda Satsuki, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Ujhelyi Istvan, former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Mrs. Sheila Copps, heads of NGOs from 16 countries in Asia, Africa, America and Europe, as well as Chinese representatives attended the Dialogue.
 
(10) May 22, Zhou Tienong, Vice-Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee and President of CAFIU, met with former President of Botswana Festus Mogae.
 
(11) May 22, Minister of IDCPC and CAFIU Advisor Wang Jiarui met with Eda Satsuki, former President of Japan¡¯s House of Councillors.
 
(12) May 22, Vice-Minister of the IDCPC and Advisor to CAFIU Liu Jieyi met with Taro Kono, member of the House of Representatives of Japan.
 
(13) May 23, Mr. He Guoqiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, met with important foreign representatives present at the 2012 ¡°Understanding and Cooperation¡± Dialogue.
 
(14) May 30, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian attended the dinner held by Horinouchi Hidehisa, Minister of the Japanese Embassy in China.
                                                            June

(1) June 3-13, at the invitation of the University of Mississippi, the Friendship Force International and the North America International Cooperation Association of Canada, a 3-member CAFIU team led by Deputy Secretary-General Du Kening paid a friendly visit to the USA and Canada.
 
(2) June 10-21, at the invitation of the parliaments of Italy, Malta, and Cyprus and the Organizing Committee of the Fourth Presidents¡¯ Meeting of Israel, Chen Zongxing, Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and Vice-President of CAFIU, paid a good-will visit to the above-mentioned four countries and attended the Fourth Presidents¡¯ Meeting of Israel.
 
(3) June 16-21, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian attended UN Sustainable Development Conference (Rio+20) held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
 
(4) June 24-29, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 40-member Hiroshima Kagura troupe, headed by Sen Nakata, Chief Director of the Japanese NPO ¡°the World¡± visited China, and staged a performance in Beijing and Dalian respectively in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations. In Beijing, CAFIU Vice-President Li Chengren met with the delegation and watched the performance.
                                                                 July

(1) July 9-19, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 16-member delegation of African Traditional Leaders co-headed by Kgosi Puso Gaborone, Chairman of the House of Chiefs of Botswana and Chief Madzimawe, Chairman of the House of Chiefs of Zambia, visited China. The delegation was composed of 8 members from the House of Chiefs of Botswana and 8 from the House of Chiefs of Zambia. In Beijing, Mme. Wang Zhizhen, Vice-Chairperson of the National Committee of the CPPCC and Vice-President of CAFIU met with the delegation and hosted a welcoming banquet in honour of the delegation. Apart from Beijing, the delegation also visited Suzhou in Jiangsu Province and Shaanxi Province. The delegation also participated in the Second China-Africa People¡¯s Forum held in Suzhou.
 
(2) July 10, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Du Kening met with Sven Schwersensky, Program Executive of FES Beijing Office.
 
(3) July 18, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang met with the delegation of Japan-China Workers Association for Exchanges headed by its Vice-President Kakinuma Yosuke.
 
(4) July 22-26, CAFIU representative attended the 9th Northeast Asian Youth Forum held in the Republic of Korea.
 
(5) July 27, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with Hiroyasu Izumi, Japanese Consul-General in Shanghai.
 
                                                                    August

(1) August 1, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian attended the farewell reception held by Amos Nadai, Israeli Ambassador to China.
 
(2) August 6, Deputy Secretary-General Du Kening met with Maja Stefanovic, the new political counselor of the Serbian Embassy in China.
 
(3) August 20-24, at the invitation of the Japanese NPO ¡°The World¡±, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian visited Japan and attended the 10th annual conference of NPO ¡°the World¡±.
 
(4) August 21, CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Du Kening met with Mrs. Reisei Wang, President of North America International Cooperation Association of Canada.
                                                              September

(1) September 3, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with Shigeo Yamada, the outgoing Minister of Embassy of Japan in China. Ni and Yamada expressed thanks to each other for the support in the past. Minister Yamada said he would continue to pay attention to and support the work of CAFIU. The two sides also exchanged views on Sino-Japanese relations and other issues.
 
(2) September 16, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with Mme. Gmelin, former Federal Minister of Justice of Germany who came to China for the 10th Sino-German Human Rights Dialogue.
 
(3) September 17-18, 2012, the 10th Sino-German Human Rights Dialogue jointly sponsored by the China Foundation for the Development of Human Rights, CAFIU and FES was held in Chengde City, Hebei Province.
                                                                October

(1) October 22-November 2, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 17-member delegation consisting of representatives of NGOs from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Indonesia visited China.
 
(2) October 24£¬CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang met with Narihiko Ito, former Professor of Chuo University. Mr. Ito attended all the China-Japan Symposiums on Asian Situation and Peace cosponsored by CAFIU and the Japanese side.
 
(3) October 25, NGO Seminar on Enhancing People-to-People Understanding for Friendship and Cooperation co-organized by CAFIU and CFPD was held in Beijing. Representatives of NGOs and think tanks from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Indonesia and representatives from several renowned NGOs and research institutions at home attended the Seminar. CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian and Rohadi Haryanto, Secretary-General of Indonesian National Council on Social Welfare gave speeches at the opening ceremony. CAFIU Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang presided at the opening ceremony.
 
(4) October 30, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with Masahiro Mikami, Minister of Public Relations, Press, Culture, Education and Sports of the Embassy of Japan in Beijing. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening China-Japan exchanges and people-to-people contacts.
 
(5) October 30, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with Katsuji Nakazawa, China Headquarters Chief of NIKKEI Inc.. Both sides exchanged views on China¡¯s recent development and China-Japan relations.
                                                     November

(1) November 1-7, at the invitation of CAFIU, a 7-member delegation of National Strategy Institute of the Republic of Korea headed by President Chung Dong Soo visited China. In Beijing, Mme. Wang Zhizhen, Vice-Chairperson of the CPPCC National Committee and Vice-President of CAFIU met with the delegation. CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian and Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang held working discussions with the delegation respectively.
 
(2) November 20, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with Sen NAKATA, Chief Director of the NPO ¡°The World¡±. The two sides made an in-depth discussion on advancing bilateral relations and deepening practical cooperation between the two organizations.
 
(3) November 21, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian met with the delegation of Polish Students¡¯ Association headed by its president Patryk Stanisz. Both sides exchanged views on promoting China-Poland NGO cooperation.
 
(4) November 22, the Seminar on NGO¡¯s Understanding and Cooperation co-organized by CAFIU and CFPD was held in Beijing. More than 40 resident representatives from UN system, delegates from foreign and domestic NGOs, Chinese and foreign experts as well as scholars, and council members of CAFIU attended this Seminar. CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian made a keynote speech titled ¡°Promoting People-to-People Diplomacy and Safeguarding World Peace¡±. Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang presided at the Seminar and Deputy Secretary-General Zheng Yao attended the Seminar.
 
(5) November 29-30, a 3-member working group headed by CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian went to Binxian County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province and attended the donating ceremony of Australian Rotary to poor college students.
The group also conducted observation visits in Binxian County.
                                                           December

(1) December 4, CAFIU Secretary-General Ni Jian held talks with Tanaka Atsuhito, Director of the Beijing Office of the Japan Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR). Both sides exchanged views on promoting exchanges between the two peoples and between local governments and NGOs.
 
(2) December 5£¬CAFIU and FES celebrated 30th anniversary of cooperation in Beijing. Delegates from headquarters of FES, representatives from FES Asia-Pacific offices, politicians and experts participating in the Eleventh China-Germany Seminar on Foreign Policy and Comprehensive Security as well as working staff of CAFIU Secretariat joined the celebration.¡¡IDCPC Vice-Minister and Executive Vice-President of CAFIU Mr. Li Jinjun attended the celebration and delivered a speech.
 
(3) December 6, the eleventh China-Germany Seminar on foreign Policy and Comprehensive Security, co-sponsored by IDCPC, CAFIU and FES under the theme of Peace Policy in a Changing World Order: Harmonious Society, Illusion or Reality? was held in Beijing. Assistant Minister of IDCPC and Advisor to CAFIU He Jun and Spokesperson on foreign affairs of Parliamentary Caucus of Social Democratic Party of Germany Rolf Mutzenich delivered speeches at the opening ceremony respectively.
 
(4) December 7, the Seminar on Public Diplomacy and NGOs co-sponsored by CAFIU and CFPD was held in Beijing. More than 40 representatives from foreign embassies in Beijing, Chinese government organs, NGOs, academic agencies and some Council members of CAFIU participated in the Seminar.
 
(5) December 10-22, at the invitation of the Government of the United Arab Emirates, Civic Association ¡°House of Poland¡± and the Cambodian Senate, a CAFIU delegation headed by Mme. Wang Zhizhen, Vice-Chairperson of the CPPCC National Committee and Vice-President of CAFIU visited the above-mentioned three countries and stopped over in Bulgaria . Mme. Wang was accompanied by He Jun, Assistant Minister of IDCPC and Advisor to CAFIU.
 
(6) December 12-22, at the invitation of the Civil Association ¡°the House of Poland¡±, the Institute of International Politics and Economics of Serbia, and the Swedish Peace Committee, a 5-member CAFIU delegation headed by Deputy Secretary-General Liu Kaiyang visited Poland, Serbia and Sweden.
